September’s Community Newsletter
Hello and welcome to this month's Better Space newsletter
August has been all about Welcome and Community at Better Space. Throughout the month, we’ve been creating opportunities to welcome new faces, strengthen connections and bring people together through learning, collaboration, creativity and shared experiences.
From welcoming new visitors through our Open Houses to hosting community lunches, co-working days and wellbeing activities, Better Space has been full of opportunities to connect. It’s been a brilliant month for celebrating the people and organisations that make our community what it is, while creating space for new relationships and ideas to grow.
We welcomed members and visitors to Better Space Open Houses throughout August. These sessions gave people the opportunity to explore the space, meet the team and find out more about our community and membership options. It was brilliant to welcome so many new faces through the doors and introduce them to what Better Space has to offer.
Learning and professional development continued to be a big part of our August programme. We hosted a Lunch & Learn on AI Skills for Neurodivergence, creating space to explore how AI tools can support different ways of working and learning. We also welcomed Polly Pale for a Freelance Financial Literacy session, giving freelancers the opportunity to learn more about managing their finances, building financial confidence and navigating some of the challenges that come with self-employment.
Our Community Catalyser Lunch & Learn with Primwell Coaching brought another valuable perspective to the community, with conversations around coaching, personal development and supporting people to thrive. We love seeing these sessions create opportunities for members to share their expertise while connecting with others across the Better Space network.
August also gave us plenty of opportunities to slow down and connect. Our Mends & Makes Circle brought members together for an afternoon of creativity and wellbeing, while our Community Assistant Pop-Ups created additional opportunities for members to engage with the team and one another in a more informal setting.
Alongside our regular programme, we hosted a number of events for our partners and wider community, including The Mandem Link-up, which brought people together in the space for an evening of community and connection. As well as, Canopy for a community co-working day, bringing their network into Better Space for a day of collaboration and connection.
Thank you, as always, to everyone who has contributed to the Better Space community this month. Whether you’ve attended an event, shared your expertise, welcomed someone new or simply helped make the space what it is, we’re grateful to have you with us.

Looking Ahead
September is shaping up to be another exciting month at Better Space, with our theme of Giveback and Skill Sharing running throughout our programme.
We’ll be creating plenty of opportunities for members to share their knowledge, learn from one another and give back to the wider community, with a programme of Lunch & Learns, community events, co-working opportunities and spaces to connect. We’re particularly looking forward to bringing our community together around topics including community organising, sustainability, entrepreneurship and more.
We're excited to be bringing our community together for an upcoming Women Founders Co-working Day on Thursday 17 September, a day for early-stage founders to connect, collaborate and work alongside like-minded entrepreneurs. It's also a great chance to experience everything Better Space has to offer.
We'd love for you to share this opportunity across your networks and help us connect with even more brilliant women founders. Tickets are available here.
This month also marks the launch of our new Off-Peak Flexi 4 Membership, designed to make Better Space more accessible to freelancers and early-stage organisations. Members can access Better Space for four days each month, on Thursdays and Fridays. If you or someone you know could benefit from this membership, get in touch with the Better Space team to find out more.
As always, we’ll continue sharing funding opportunities, local events and useful resources throughout the month, alongside our regular programme.
Thank you to everyone who continues to share their time, knowledge and energy with the Better Space community. Whether you’re hosting a session, sharing your expertise, welcoming someone new or simply connecting with a fellow member, your contribution helps make our community what it is.
We look forward to seeing you throughout September!
