Meet the Better Space Team

  • Partnership & Social Impact Manager

    Sarah’s background is in social impact, education and entrepreneurship. Prior to her work in education, Sarah worked in account management for graduate recruitment but a drive to focus her career on positive social change led her to the Year Here Fellowship programme for social entrepreneurship and innovation. Sarah was a founding member of education charity, The Difference, taking it from inception to a national organisation delivering multiple programmes, as Head of Recruitment and Culture. Most recently Sarah led a social enterprise delivering inclusive relationship and sex education for young people.

    Talk to Sarah about innovation, team culture and social impact. Please also talk to Sarah about everything and anything related to food (eating + cooking), detective shows and walks!

  • Community Manager

    After joining Better Space as a co-working member in 2022, Maya officially joined the staff team as Community Manager in 2025. Her background is in social entrepreneurship and education. Prior to joining Better Space, she held various roles at Social Enterprise Academy, focusing on programme design and delivery, team management, income generation, and financial planning – including successfully launching one of its core programmes in a new region.

    As Community Manager, Maya leads on the overall energy of the Better Space community. This includes coordinating member engagement, programmes and events, and marketing and community-building initiative

  • Community Assistant

    Gio supports the day-to-day running of Better Space as a Community Assistant. She’s your go-to for questions, feedback, and anything that helps the space feel more welcoming and connected, including event support and community ideas. 

    Gio brings a rich background spanning office operations, mental health, and hospitality, with a strong focus on equity and access in the arts, education, and wellbeing. She’s particularly passionate about supporting POC and queer communities, and believes deeply in the power of inclusive spaces where people can be themselves, connect meaningfully, and thrive. 

  • Entrepreneurship Operations Manager

    Fatema is an experienced projects manager who supports workspace management and process improvement. She ensures smooth day-to-day operations of Better Space by working collaboratively across a variety of departments, as well as supporting the front of house provisions.

    Fatema excels at driving continuous improvement, leading projects and managing event space services for both internal and external clients. She is keen to develop policies and procedures that enhance workspace value, enhance our member experiences and make our processes as efficient and effective. Recognised by peers and managers for her strong organisational, communication and project management skills; she is excited to meet members and get stuck into the strategic and operational objectives of the team.
