Spotlight on: September

Who are we speaking to today?

Dan Newling

So, in a few sentences what does September do?

We help professional services firms such law firms, accountants, HR firms achieve the media and online profiles they deserve. Make it stand out. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

What has been your biggest achievement in creating a positive impact so far?

We can work hand-in-hand with clients to raise the profile of their own progressive causes, for example by supporting work on behalf of victims of state abuses of power. Our work has won political and public support for individual victims of police violence, for example, and for the subjects of political oppression.

What’s been your favourite project to work on?

While I cannot disclose details of individual client work, I enjoyed devising and implementing a bespoke PR/SEO strategy that resulted in one client achieving the top ranking on Google for the most important search terms.

How can people & the community support September?

At the moment I don’t require support, other than recommending my services to anyone you may think can benefit from it.

What are the biggest challenges and opportunities within the Freelancer industry right now?

Scaling; One challenge is how to best achieve sustainable growth. September was founded on the principle of providing a bespoke service in which all clients receive personal attention. I have to be careful to take on clients for whom I can be

confident I can continue to provide this to over the long term.
